In the months leading up to the Jennifer Show, I blogged extensively about nearly every aspect of the show preparation process. I talked about the judges, the travel, the class list, the ribbons, the awards, the donations and the food. Just about the only thing I didn't share was the identity of the Jennifer Show Performance Challenge model. That was a deep, dark secret, known only to myself, Jennifer Scott and Corina Roberts.
In a post dated July 26, I invited readers to guess the horse. In doing so, I also dropped one very significant hint. A few people noticed it, but no one interpreted it correctly.
Instead, most people went with Thunder, who is a portrait model of the Denver Broncos mascot. Since I happened to have a Thunder in my possession, I placed him on top of the stack of covered models in the show hall Sunday morning.
When all the Performance Challenge entrants had arrived, we pulled back the sheet and revealed the mystery model(s).
No one saw this coming.
It was two for the price of one, and showers were required to use the baby in at least one class.
I wasn't sure how this would be received, but everyone seemed happy.Probably they were glad it wasn't Thunder!
In any event, they grabbed their models....
and started tacking.
The results were amazing. Although no one guessed the model(s), they showed them as if they'd known their identities for months.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Performance Challenge and to Corina Roberts who supplied us with the models. This was one of my favorite parts of the Jennifer Show!
