Barn time

I had to run a couple important errands this morning, and by the time I was done, it was too hot to ride.

Usually when this happens, I remind myself that it's okay to skip a day. After all, I'm not the one in charge of feeding or mucking. This week, however, that's not entirely true. I am caring for Sprite while her family is on vacation, and she minds very much if she doesn't get her daily noms.

Happily, James offered to accompany me to the barn.
We had a fun time playing with Sprite...
 and then we checked in...
with all her neighbors.
It may have been too hot to ride, but it's never too hot for barn time.

Vicky's NAN OF performance pictures

Ask and you shall receive.

Vicky Norris read my comment about the lack of photos from the OF Performance division at this weekend's big NAN show in Palm Springs, California and sent a link to her Flickr album. With her permission, I'm posting the best shots here. Thank you so much, Vicky! These are wonderful.

Laura's NAN OF performance pictures

My Facebook feed was strangely devoid of photos from the second day of NAN. In fact, the only photos I've seen from the Original Finish Performance division were taken by Laura Skillern, who once again had a very good day. Congrats, Laura, and thanks for sharing!

Don't eat the cookies

Laura Skillern was one of the big winners in yesterday's Custom Performance division at NAN in Palm Springs, California.
She didn't win all the Western cookies...
but she came pretty close!
Her top horse was My Cameo Appearance, who is a portrait model of her real horse.
However, it's this guy, UVM Embiggen, who really makes my heart go pitter patter.
This model is a Breyer Totilas customized to look like a traditional scale version of the Breyer G1 Stablemate Morgan Stallion. Laura has made several "embiggened" stablemate customs, but this one is my all time favorite.
Congratulations, Laura, and thank you so much for allowing me to share your pictures!

NAN performance preview

The first day of NAN is Custom and Resin Performance day. This is my most favorite division so I am very grateful to Texas hobbyist, Kristi Hale for taking so many wonderful pictures. With her permission, I'm sharing a few here. Enjoy!
