In regards to my official NaMoPaiMo horse, I spent most of the month letting it happen.Rather than trying to stick to a strict schedule, I allowed myself to have fun and experiment. Sometimes that worked. Sometimes it didn't.
Either way, I was happy to just go with the flow. Then one day I woke up and realized the month was almost over. Instead of letting it happen, I had to start making it happen. Even though, my horse still needs a little bit of work on her body color, I decided to skip ahead and work on the details, starting with the eyes.
She told me she wanted a blue eye, and who am I to argue?
Yes, I like this a lot!
I also painted her legs and hooves. I didn't spend a lot of time on the tops of the markings because I expect they will need touching up after that final layer of oils.
She looks nearly done in this photo.
Unfortunately, on close inspection, she's still a little patchy. I also want to smooth out some of the shading. That's today's project. If my timing is right, she should be dry enough for me to apply the final details on Sunday.
Wish me luck! I think I can make it happen, but it's definitely going to be close!
