NaMoPaiMo 2021 is two days old, and already there are a few horses in the winners' circle. One of them is this adorable foal by Maddie Hurley. She writes: I successfully completed my NaMoPaiMo pony! This is Flora Belle, a galloping Clydesdale filly! I got wayyyy too excited about painting her, so finished her today after about five hours. I plan to make her a grass display base and a corgi puppy to race. Most of us are not that far along. Marisa Phasomsap hasn't had the time to start her model yet, but she has produced a sketch what it's hopefully going to look like.Leah Peretz is practicing her dapples while the basecoat on her official model dries.
Julie Ward is also waiting on wet paint.
Shauna McDaniel writes: Weather kept me out of the saddle and in the studio! Kipling is my official horse but war machine is tagging along..plus he looks cool.
Meanwhile, Stacey Kianese notes that one perk of working from home is that you can sneak in some painting/prep in over lunch! Covergirl is her official model, and Pollywog is her entry for Minis Painting Minis.
Speaking of work, Janine H writes: For those that don't know me, I'm a frontline healthcare worker in a hospital in downtown Toronto. I typically work forty five to sixty hours a week and don't get much art time. I knew only having a handful of Saturdays wouldn't leave me much time to really work on this appaloosa pattern, but it's my first NaMoPaiMo I really want to finish! So my game plan was to stock up on my favourite coffee and start waking up at 4am everyday to have a few hours to paint each morning. We will see how it goes!
