NaMoPaiMo by the numbers

Yesterday was database day. Ryan and I sat down and ran the numbers for NaMoPaiMo 2021. Here's the breakdown for this year's event.
One thousand one hundred seventy three people signed up to paint a model horse in February.
Twelve percent of us are first time painters, eight percent are professionals and the vast majority falls somewhere in between.

  • First time painters - 138
  • Beginners - 435
  • Intermediates - 351
  • Advanced Amateur - 184
  • Professional - 92

Sixty seven percent of the NaMoPainters live in the United States of America. The other thirty three percent hail from twenty four different countries.
  • USA (805)
  • Poland (77)
  • United Kingdom (68)
  • Germany (54)
  • Canada (51)
  • Netherlands (29)
  • Australia (29)
  • Sweden (22)
  • Russia (10)
  • Czech Repuhlic (10)
  • Finland (7)
  • New Zealand (7)
  • France (6)
  • Norway (5)
  • Slovakia (4)
  • Switzerland (3)
  • Austria (3)
  • Spain (2)
  • Ireland (2)
  • Bulgaria (1)
  • Costa Rica(1)
  • Denmark (1)
  • Estonia (1)
  • Slovenia (1)
As always, there are a lot of Jennifers, but this year we were overtaken by the Heathers. Here's the list of double digit name teams.
  • Heather (15)
  • Jennifer (14)
  • Sarah (13)
  • Amanda (12)
  • Elizabeth (12)
  • Julia (11)
  • Laura (11)
  • Lauren (10)
  • Jessica (10)
This is the first year we collected real age data on event participants. All the age groups are nicely represented, but there's room for growth, particularly with the younger crowd.
  • Under 12 - 85
  • 12-20 - 275
  • 21-40 - 523
  • 41 and over - 317
Finally, seventy six percent of the registered entrants chose to pay the optional entry fee. Thank you so much, especially to those who sent more than two dollars. Without your generosity, NaMoPaiMo would not be possible!
