By all measures, this has been an absolutely fabulous model horse year.

And it's not over yet!

Today, Fabian, Angelo and I drove up to the Colorado high country.

We'll be spending the next three days with Karen Gerhardt, learning how to glaze China horses.

Karen provided each of us with a base coated model.

Today's first lesson was removing paint for the white markings.

Four hours later, our horses are ready for the kiln!
