Mothers' Day redux

Remember the lovely pair of Gypsy Vanners that I featured here on Mothers' Day ?

Well, it turns out that I wasn't the only one inspired by that series of photos. Artist Sue Kern saw them as well, and she decided to capture the moment in plastic. Believe it or not, these models began life as a Breyer Wintersong and a Breyer Ashley!

In the spirit of Almost Wordless Wednesday, I'm going to let the photos talk for themselves. If you are interested in buying this pair, they are available right now on eBay . Also be sure to stop by Sue's website to see more of her amazing custom work: http://www.sakoriscustoms.com/

Kudos to Sue for creating such a magnificent pair and many thanks for allowing me to post their pictures here!

  4. Wow. Stunning. That is a total rework. I am amazed.

Love these word verifications: SCIZATEE ;). I think I'm going to write a definition for that...

  5. Did you all see the price they went for? WOW! I'm so happy for Sue. That was a really ambitious customizing project and she nailed it. What an amazing pair!!!

Shannon--you crack me up. I often find myself puzzling over definitions for the word verifications. Some of them really sound like they out to mean something!

  6. (Me again, the question person :-)
How much DID the mare/foal pair sell for? They are simply AMAZING!!!! I have seen those photos before, and I'm blown away that someone recreated them. Whatever the price was she richly deserved it.

  7. I can't remember the selling price, but I'm guessing it was very low four figures. That really is such a neat pair. I was glad you left the question on this particular post so that I had an excuse to go back and look at them again!
