Show ribbons

I am not an enthusiastic house cleaner.
I laughed when people when people asked me if I was cleaning my house during the first month of quarantine.
March came and went without extra cleaning. Ditto April. Ditto May.
Now it's June and "all of a sudden" I've been hit by the cleaning bug.
The kids and I have spent the last week cleaning and reorganizing the basement. Although I maintain a studio/hobby room upstairs, a lot of the overflow lives down there, including this box of ribbons. Here's what it looked like in 2012.
 And last week.
Although I really love winning ribbons, I don't have much use for them after the fact. These were just taking up space, so I offered to give them to anyone who wanted them on our local hobby Facebook page.
A couple people were interested, but they wanted to see photos before they committed. At first, I was a little annoyed by this. I dumped the box out onto the floor and started snapping pictures.
And just like that, I was hit by a giant wave of nostalgia.
So many memories!
Also, so many mysteries! This one is from a show I did not attend.
This one, too. Did they come with a model? Did I win them at one of the Crazy Ladies crazy ribbon shows? The answers are lost to time.
There are a lot of rosettes from the MEPSA Championship Show.
Also, several plaques. I used to be a serious photo shower.
Although I never attended NAN in person, there are a number of rosettes from that, too. Perhaps this is the one Rune won nine years ago today?
The ribbons are all boxed up and ready to go to their new home. I'm glad I had the chance to win them all, and since their new owner is a show holder, I am hopeful that I might get to win some of them again.

  1. I wound up filling a big jar with rosettes to display on my desk. I also have overall champion rosettes hanging on my bookcases. If I win more rosettes I'll have to find something else to do with them all.... lol

    1. I am keeping some of the prettiest and most important rosettes. I just don't need this many!
