Another Cleveland Bay
Yesterday's Cleveland Bay was a Breyer. Today it's the real deal!
I saw this guy competing in a training level class at the Dressage in the Rockies show earlier today. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Cleveland Bay in the flesh and he was lighter than I'd imagined. I think I was expecting a life size version of the Trejoyd Journeyman model!

I seriously doubt that is a purebred CB. He has the look of many of the part-bred CB's that I have known and owned. Did you happen to catch his registered name?
ReplyDeleteWell, he's definitely lighter than most of them I've seen, but I have seen some sleaker bodies before, so that doesn't mean he's not pure CB. I should find my pics from Breyerfest, since they often have a CB troop there, and they are definitely light drafts as far as size and body type.
ReplyDeleteI looked up the Dressage in the Rockies score sheet for this horse's name. He is a CB cross. Braymere if you want to really see some excellent CB's and crosses go on up to Loveland and visit Bey Breze farm. I used to ride there and I bought one of their mares. They would be happy to have you come visit and see what a purebred looks like in the flesh. -Same Anonymous 8)
ReplyDeleteWow, Anonymous, I am impressed with your thoroughness! I never thought to check score sheets. The Cleveland Bay cross was trotting into the ring as I was walking down the hill from the parking lot. I caught the words "Cleveland Bay," turned on my camera and snapped a couple quick pictures. I guess I should have listened a bit more closely (or arrived a few minutes earlier!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction!
