It was amazing.
One of the horses we met that day was this gorgeous, tiny colt. I loved the contrast between the softness of his coat color and the boldness of his face marking. Right then and there I decided that my Wrona would be painted in his likeness.
I thought about doing the work myself, but ultimately decided it was a bit beyond my skill set. I asked Lauren Hoeffer if she would be interested and was delighted when she said yes.
Lauren is a master at soft-but-deep colors, and she loves ponies and foals as much as I do. I knew she was exactly the right person for this commission, and I had high expectations for the finished piece.
Lauren delivered Wrona - now Wren - to me at the Jennifer Show, and she is even better than I had imagined. This baby is perfection from her wiggly little nose...
to the tip of her two-tone tail.
Thank you so much, Lauren. Now we need to find her a mama!

Aaaahhhh!! You didn't send me the photo in the lower right corner of your collage!! So perfect!!! <3
