Seth and I are getting ready to celebrate our twenty fifth wedding anniversary. I asked him what he'd like to do to mark the occasion. He said, "Let's go camping."

I don't hate camping. In fact, I have many fond memories of Seth, Abbie and I sleeping under the stars, first in Tennessee and Arkansas...
and later, Colorado.
Our kids' childhoods were filled with camping trips.
So many tents.
So many memories.
Both of them - but especially Ryan - still love to go camping. I think that's great, and I enjoy seeing photos of them living it up in the Colorado mountains.
But for me, I feel like my camping days are over. I am old and tired and would much rather stay in a decent nice hotel or a quirky Airbnb. Or anything. really, that's not a tent.
Not Seth. He still wants to go camping.

With me.

My lack of enthusiasm must have been palpable, but Seth was determined.

"Why don't we go to Wyoming?" he suggested. "We could visit Olive's homeland and spend a couple days looking for Mustangs?"

Well, alrighty then.
In about an hour, Seth and I and our newest white dog will head out for a three day/two night camping trip in Wyoming. Wish us luck!

  1. Good luck! And happy anniversary! Looking forward to the coming pictures!!!

  2. Oh fun, seeing wild horses in the wild is pretty cool

  3. Seth has got some pretty wicked logic.
