Happiness is...

finding a package from Shannon in my mailbox!
Oh, what a beautiful little saddle!
Close up of the tooling--it's hard to believe this isn't full sized.
Of course I wasn't content just to look at my new saddle...
It was absolutely necessary to tack something up!
I've owned this Darla Doll for several years, but because I have more dolls than saddles, she has never seen the inside of a showring.  Hopefully that will be changing soon!
All the silver plates on this set were handcut and tooled by Shannon.
Another detail shot--I love the romal's tooled popper.
If you would like to see more of Shannon's work be sure to check out her blog.  She is currently offering a spot for a full tooled Western sidesaddle.  If you're in the market for a truly spectacular piece of tack, look no further!
Thanks so much for the beautiful saddle, Shannon.  I just love it!

  1. Wow....... Wish I could own something like THAT! It's amazing... I'd probably spend an hour, at minimum, staring at it after I got it. I love the tooling! And the silver looks sooo intricate... that should win quite a few NAN cards!!!

Seriously though, do you guys have some kind of shrink ray that you send to each other? XD

  3. See?! I KNEW it was my camera all along ;). You really picked up those details. *sigh* Glad you like it, and I hope you have lots of success with it. Purdy, watch out!

Last Alliance - too funny! The moon is next...

  5. It's not that we share a shrink ray... It's more like we both have an extreme obsession with replicating tiny details and the sort of personality that allows us to spend hours on end in pursuit of our obsessions!

Seriously, Shannon. I love the saddle. Feel free to use the pictures for your own purposes. I'll try to get some "on the rat" shots sometime this week!

  6. Your first photo got me all excited and I didn't even get to open the box! LOL

Seriously though, that is a thing of beauty. Both the newly arrived package, and what was in it!

  7. OMG, I LOVE mailbox shots!! You'd think delivering mail I'd get tired of them but I just LOVE photos or art with mailboxes in them.

I know, I am weird. I am speechless over the tack, horse and doll. Absolutely speechless. It is things like this that make me totally uncompetitive these days.
