It's a wrap

Because this weekend wasn't busy enough, I am taking care of an extra horse. I rode her for the first time this morning, snapped one quick proof of life photo for her owner and raced home to watch the BreyerFest auction.

This year's offerings included a bunch of stunners, all of which sold for equally stunning prices.

The Original Finish market is absolutely bananas right now, so I wasn't shocked when this gorgeous, glossy Hamilton fetched eighteen thousand dollars.

I didn't expect this guy to go almost as high, though.

After the auction, it was time to announce the Best Customs Contest winners. Nickel Goings' big portrait model won the Most Extreme category. Darynn Bednarczyk's Denali was first runner-up. Second runner-up was Anna K.

The Fantasy category was won by Kira Matrejek. Janine Haq and Kristen Cermele were first and second runner-ups respectively.

Tammi Palmarchuk was the big winner in the giant Excellence in Finishwork division. Second and third prizes went to Heather Bullach and Karen Zorn.

Performance went to Laura Skillern. Vincent Lange's Lipizzans were first runner-up and Hanna Bear's Butt placed third.

The last category was the Theme class. This was won by Amanda Brock. D'arry Jone Frank placed second, and Ruth Sheridan was third.

The Costume and Diorama Contest winners were announced next. There are too many to share here, but all of them were really wonderful and deserving.

The last item on the agenda was the announcement of the 2022 BreyerFest theme. Prost!

And just like that, BreyerFest 2021 was over.

Well, except for this.

I gathered up all the comments from BreyerFest weekend and used a random number generator to pick a winner. Congratulations, Kathy Wood!

Kathy has donated generously to every hobby event I have ever held. I am delighted to be giving something back to her. It's a perfect ending for a very good BreyerFest weekend.
