Moving on

This morning I woke up bright and early and drove Carol to the airport.
After that, I made trips to the grocery store and orthodontist...
before heading out to the barn.
By the time I got there, the weather had taken a turn for the worse.
I opted not to ride. Instead I scraped the mud off Santana and took him for a walk.
Santana was totally on board with this descision.
It's been more than twelve years since I first started taking Carol's daughter to the barn with me. At the time, I just wanted to mentor a horse crazy girl. I never guessed that doing so would bring me the best of all best friends. We've shared a lot of great adventures, a lot of laughter and a lot of tears. It's going to be hard not having her in my day to day life, but I guess I'll figure out. Whether I want it to or not, life goes on.
