No tricks--this group of photos is definitely a treat!
Hobbyist Cindy Evans is as good a photographer as she is a customizer, and that's saying a lot. Cindy has a seasonal job at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky and took these pictures during the park's 2014 Halloween Horses of the World Show. Enjoy!

These are all amazing -- Tauriel! Elsa! -- yet the one I'm staring at most is the last. Did it start life as a fly net? I hope it was easier to make than it looks.
ReplyDeleteHi, I just happened to come across this blog, and I'm so glad people shared Cindy'ss pics!! I'm the one riding the Gypsy in the ghost costume. I'm glad you seem to like it!! You're actually kinda close to guessing what it was made of. They are "Spooky Curtains" you can buy at Wal-Mart around Halloween. I bought about ten of them, ripped holes for Billy's eyes and ears, and fastened them together on him with zipties. SUPER easy and took like 10 minutes, max. I tested the face part a couple days ahead of time, just to see if he'd deal and to get the other horses used to seeing it. The last step was spraying him with Gray color enhancer spray for the misty look. I could tell Billy absolutely HATED wearing this, but, he put up with it like a champ for me!! =) I still call this my magnum opus- all those years of theatre paid off.
DeleteSO much work and creativity!
ReplyDeleteEveryone's costumes were great, (I had LOTS of favorites) and would be hard pressed to have chosen a winner. That said, I think the Lion King was excellent and I got a huge chuckle when I saw Shrek...
: )
how to pick a favorite?? they all look great
ReplyDeleteOk. Someone REALLY needs to create all of these in miniature scale! I love them all! I can't image how e
ReplyDeleteWeird it Must have felt for the horse wearing the super man costume! Lol!
