Judging not showing

So...  It turns out that I won't be showing Princess Trillium...
in the performance divisions at this year's Springamathing Live Show, which will be held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden, Colorado on May 25.
Instead, I'll be judging both the Open Performance and Novice Performance divisions.  I'm expecting some good entries in the Open classes, but the Novice division worries me.  The last time I was asked to judge Novice classes at Springamathing, I was greeted by one (nearly) empty table...
after another.
I really don't want that to happen again, so I implore you.  If you live in Colorado and have any interest in trying performance at this year's show, please send me a note.

It doesn't matter whether or not you own any tack, I promise I can find you a loaner set and maybe even a prop or two.  Performance is fun--empty show tables are not.  Please, please, please support the Springamathing Novice Performance division!

  1. I can't help you on the entering the novice division part but I might have a few free moments to help showers vet their entries...

You will most likely need entries in the open division as badly as you do the novice division... :D

    1. I don't expect a lot of entries in the Open but I do expect them to be good. I can deal with a lack of quantity as long as the quality's there. But a lack of quality and quantity? That's just depressing!

  2. *I* would LOVE to come to the show!!!

Unfortunately I live in Oregon and Colorado is a bit of a drive for me........

I DO have a really nice piece of BCS tack tho'!!! And a cool Arab costume!!

  3. There were never any entries in Novice around here either. Novice seems to mostly involve talking adults into trying something new, and that's always an uphill battle. (Most of the shows in my area have a separate youth division.)

  4. I would love to, but Ohio is a bit far from Colorado. I love performance, and i'm working on getting some nice tack and props. I actually got a NAN card at my last show in Western Games. I was really surprised. My tack isn't that nice, but i guess i had it set up perfectly!

  5. I wish I could get up there, too. I hear that part of Colorado is just beautiful. Unfortunately, its a long drive from Texas...

  6. If I still lived in Wyoming, I would so take you up on this! However, Arizona is not as close and plane tickets not nearly as cheap as they used to be once upon a time.
