The dressage saddle is sold. Thank you, Karen!

All that money was burning a hole in my pocket so this morning I went shopping. First I went to Tandy Leather...
then I headed over to Denver Fabrics.
And guess what? This is all I bought:
What a disappointment! Tandy was completely out of petite tooling calf hides. That was an unexpected and unhappy surprise. I used up the last good pieces of old hide on those dressage saddles, and I was really counting on replacing it today. It never occurred to me that they would be sold out. Sigh.

I didn't do much better at Denver Fabrics. I was hoping to score some pink garment weight ultrasuede. The plan was to use this to make some sports medicine type boots to match my little barrel saddle. Well, they had the ultrasuede... but not in pink. I had to settle for white, which is fine, I guess. I still really want the pink, though!

So, this was not my best shopping day ever. I guess I'll have to try again next week.

  1. Wish our Tandy was closer, I love going there. There's an antique mall right next door, too.

  2. Are you going to the show in Boulder Saturday? I have a bit of orchid-pink you can have a piece of..!

  3. My quilting aunt LOVES Denver Fabric. Of course, she doesn't live in Colorado...

I wonder if pink model stuff is the opposite of pink real horse stuff? You can't find the model stuff and can always find the real horse stuff?

And, ditto what Jane said - Sat show?

  4. GWR--I've actually been to your Tandy. My husband grew up in Kansas City and we used to visit his parents regularly until they moved to Texas. Of course I always had to check out all the local tack shops and leather shops while I was there!

Jane and Teresa--Yes, yes! I will be at the show. And yes, I'd love some of your pink ultrasuede, Jane. Would you like some of my white? I'll never use this much...

  5. You're welcome, Jennifer! I can't tell you how excited I am to be getting it!

  6. Yippee! See you Sat then! I have a whopping six horses to show - I will have ample time to chat and drool and make sure other people's horses get into the ring :D
