Dogpile

I have always wanted to set up a fox hunting entry with a huge pack of hounds. Two or three dogs isn't enough for me. In my mind's eye I'm envisioning something similar to this: To that end, I've been collecting Breyer foxhound bodies for years. I am slowly customizing them into running, jumping and even digging positions. Here are just a few of the dogs in my dogpile.
I am not very speedy when it comes to making things for myself. I don't know if I'll ever actually get all these dogs finished, but I'm having a lot of fun working towards that goal.

The top picture was taken by Lauren Upton at the RXR show. Thanks again, Lauren for letting me use your photos!

  1. Well, as long as you let them out of "Braymere Kennels" on occassion, we'll just have to deal with lots and lots of dogs :)

  2. Love your foxhounds!!! I've got 2 breyer hounds I use, and one I painted like a Dalmation :)

  3. I completely agree. I've always wanted a whole pack of hounds, but never been able to get my hands on enough, and no time to customize them so they aren't all alike. I'm completely jealous :)

  4. I'm trying to do the same thing. I have a bout seven un-customized Breyer hounds. When we get them all painted maybe we can share or do a combined setup. Your horse and rider, my horse and rider and all our dogs...! Just need a class we can put it in :-)

  5. Oh Jane, wouldn't that be funny--one set up with two tagged horses owned by two different people! We would be the judge's worst nightmare! I probably have another three or four that aren't pictured here. I'm really hoping I'll be inspired to finish them all sooner rather than later.
