The theme of today's BreyerFest Best Customs Contest posts is: What can you do with a Breyer #47 Man O' War? The obvious answer, of course, is Glow him Up! This is exactly what Tibbi Searcher did. Here are all the words and pictures.
The Making of Man O' War
by Tibbi Searcher
After many years of contemplation and procrastination, I've finally entered a BreyerFest competition. Meet Man O War, my Best Customs Contest Glow UP entry.
He started life as the Breyer traditional MOW and with much grinding, cutting and sculpting has been transformed into my vision of the great horse he's meant to represent.
I didn't get every step of the process but this gives an idea of the long and sometimes round about journey customization can take.
Special thanks to a few people who have helped me with this project. Linda York for her very useful advice that got him on the right track, Heather Bullach for teaching me to oil paint and Cheryl Mundee for making his halter.

O! Be still, my heart! I truly hope to see this entry on the table in KY. 💙
ReplyDeleteAnother one in the category of "Take my Breath Away!" I keep seeing stuff I had no idea even existed,...! Man O' War is so recognizable, because Tibbi has captured his essence so very well.
