BreyerFest isn't just about Breyer anymore. Under the guidance of Erin Corbett and the entire Volo Artem team, Stone Horses' Equilocity has grown from a concurrent, niche event to a major hobby happening in and of itself.
As in past years, the 2025 event will showcase winners of Stone Horses Art of the Horse competition. This contest has two divisions, one for flatwork and literature, the other for models.
No surprise, the Division B has attracted the attention of a lot of A-list hobby artists, including Stephanie Blaylock. She write: This year I decided to enter both the Stone and Breyer contests. When Stone announced the contest body for Art of the Horse 2025 would be the Arabian… well, I had to participate. This boy has been in the works since last August.
He was painted with a mix of pastels, acrylics, metallics, colored pencils, and Conte A Paris pencils.
As with all projects like this, many lessons were learned. The main one being I better stop before I mess this up. Here is my 2025 Stone Horses Art of the Horse entry, Almishkal (Kaleidoscope).
