Proud

Before you can even look at one of their horses, most rescues and non-profits ask you to fill out an adoption application.

I filled out so many applications this year.

Invariably, one of the questions is, What do you plan to do with this horse?

My standard answer was: basic arena work, trail riding and companionship. The true answer was those three things plus photo shoots and wearing costumes.

Today, was Sage's first experience with the photo shoots and costumes part of her job description.
She was cooperative, but a little befuddled when I put the flag on her back.
That didn't last long, though. Within minutes, she was posing like a champ.
We tried out multiple configurations. Sometimes I got a questioning ear.
Mostly not.
She's actually trying to eat it here.
Good girl, Sage. I don't know what kind of riding horse you're going to be, but I think you're a natural at photo shoots and costumes.

  4. This will likely anger some people--but how nice of Sage to remind us all that the original meaning of the rainbow was God's promise to us all that He'd never destroy the world with a flood ever again!! She really is a sweetie to stand there so calmly despite of what you do with her!!

  6. When I had a real horse she was terrified of anything that flapped, particularly thin plastic.
