The next two days

I didn't know what kind of horse was going to come off the trailer on Monday, so I didn't make any plans for the week. As it turned out, Sage has been just as calm, cool and collected for me in Aurora as she was with Stefanie in Guffey, so yesterday, we pulled out Olive's Brockamp pad and tacked her up.

We did a little in hand work in the arena. I'm standing on the mounting block here.
Then we hit the trail with Karen and Kaffi.
Sage walked around the pond like she'd been doing it her entire life. She barely even glanced at the golfers and golf carts. This is a brave baby.
Several people had asked me what her belly looked like, so when we were hanging out with her in the run after our training session, I stuck my phone under there a took a picture.
Manatee.
Today, my goal was to show her the indoor arena. It has a tough entrance with a too-small, awkwardly placed door. Every horse is dubious at first.
Sage took a moment, but only one. She pretty much followed me right in.
I seriously doubt she's ever been inside an indoor, and there were a few nervous poops.
Mostly, though, she took this right in stride.
Her next challenge was turnout with a friend, in this case, Heather's Morgan/Andalusian filly, Tazz.
Things got pretty rowdy pretty quickly, with lots of squeals and chasing.
Go, Sage, go!
Eventually, however, everyone settled, and I was able to catch Sage without any issues.
We also went on another off-property walk, this time without Karen and Kaffi. Sage was as brave as ever and even asked to check out Michael and Austin's roping dummy on the way back to the barn.
I didn't know what kind of horse was going to come off the trailer on Monday, but I never expected one as bold, sweet and well-behaved as this. How did I get so lucky?
