The rain came down

Yesterday morning was foggy and damp. I went on a quick bareback ride around the retention pond and drove to work.

A few hours into my shift, everyone's phone lit up with a tornado warning. The lights flickered and it sounded like the roof was going to blow right off the building. Since there wasn't a basement to escape into, everyone huddled together in the middle of the store.

Well, everyone except Sarah and I. We're both camera people who couldn't resist snapping a few pictures through the front door.

It doesn't look like much here, but trust me, it was wild.
The warning had expired by the time I drove home. The storm, however, had not.
That's hail on the side of the road. Crazy!
It rained all night and is still raining today. I was tempted to stay home and hibernate, but I had a few errands that needed to be done, one of which, was checking on Olive.
Olive is famous for choosing her run over her stall regardless of the weather, but when I drove past the White Barn, none of the horses were outside. Not even Olive.
I parked in front of the center aisle and checked on all the horses as I walked past.
Chino is the newest White Barn resident. It makes me so happy to see his cute face looking over the stall door.
Olive was not actually in her stall. Instead, she was standing in the covered area between the stall and run, staring out at the rain.
"Hi, mom. Please make it stop."
I let myself into the stall and stood with her for a few minutes. She was very wet and also very crabby.
She clearly wanted to be outside, but not outside in that.
I gave her lunch, which made her happier.
After she finished eating, we stood in the doorway and watched the rain again.
Sorry, girl. Sometimes Colorado is like this.
Hopefully tomorrow will be drier. I know we're not supposed to complain about rain, but I have some big outdoor plans for this weekend. I really don't want to be rained out!
