The rain came down, part two

This has been a rainy month.

Most of my neighborhood is under water.
Colorado is a dry state, so I try not to complain about too much moisture.
Still, I'm over it.
The only saving grace is that most of the rain has happened at night. The mornings have been warm, muggy and one hundred percent rideable.
So we've been riding.
The little creek near the barn has grown into a mighty river.
Olive and I have been using it to practice our water crossings.
Yesterday, she needed a lead to get across.
Today, she did it all on her own.
As a reward, I turned her out in the mare field after our ride.
Karen did the same with Roy, but in the gelding field, of course.
I told Karen I'd bring them both in around two o'clock. That sounded good in theory, but by the time two o'clock rolled around, it was pouring.
Seth was worried I'd get washed away, so he came with me to help.
The gelding field has a nice big shelter, but Roy wasn't in it.
Poor, little, drowned rat.
I handed him to Seth, and went to get Olive.
All the mares were huddled around their little shelter. Most of them were wet.
Not Olive! She is such a boss mare.
We splashed through the standing water and tucked both horses into their stalls.
Then, as quickly as it started, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Isn't that the way it always works!
