Hobby rooms, part two

When I was little, my horses lived in a corner of the living room.

As I added new members to the herd, my mom became unhappy with this arrangement. The horses were banished to the basement
I didn't mind. There was a lot more room down there. I spent many happy hours in that not-so-friendly-space, playing with my models and arranging and rearranging the shelves.
It was my first hobby room.
I thought it was great.
Little did I know, there were hobby rooms that looked like this...
Darynn Bednarczyk's hobby room
or this...
Kelly Weimer's hobby room
or this...
Tamara Malley-Naslund's hobby room
or this...
Randi Wood's hobby room
I'm pretty sure I would have thought I'd died and gone to heaven if I had seen Karen Malcor-Chapman's glorious display. Even now, I find it utterly amazing.
Eleanor Harvey's hobby room is set up like library stacks. The Breyers are arranged in chronological order, the Stones are by mold - because who can remember when any of them were first made? - and the Hartlands are by mold, and within that, grouped by each iteration of the company.
Lynn Weber's room has a pair of traditional scale barns in the middle of all those shelves.
Oh, the hours I could spend playing with my horses in a space like this!
Speaking of barns...
here's Amy Williams' hobby room. Definitely another space I'd love to visit!
Jackie Rossi's horses live in the basement...
but it's nothing like the basement hobby space of my youth.
So good.
Here's another great space.
This one belongs to Stephanie Ford. She writes: I do professional western art and illustration work. This allowed me to build a studio separate from the house. It's my happy place.
Last one for this post! Maddie Klein's hobby room is another basement space.
Here's the studio part of her hobby space. This is the painting station. The other side of the wooden shelf is dedicated to tack making.
Thank you to Darynn, Kelly, Tamara, Randi, Karen, Eleanor, Lynn, Amy, Jackie, Stephanie and Maddie for sharing their hobby rooms with me. I'll have another group of great spaces in an upcoming post.

  2. I love seeing everyone's hobby rooms! Reminds me of when I was little and walked into a toy or hobby store and they had a big display for sale.
