Welcome Kaffi

Because life is the way it is, I missed the arrival of Karen's new horse.

I had to work the next day, too, so when I did finally meet him, it was twenty seven degrees and dark. Not gonna lie, that was pretty unsatisfying.
Fortunately, I was able to make up for it over the weekend.
So without further ado, this is Kaffi.
He is an eight year old Icelandic horse gelding.
He was imported from Iceland about the same time Karen and I went on our big Icelandic adventure.
Fate.
He's a solid, well trained little guy, but he doesn't know anything about being a single-owner, pet horse.
Karen is taking it real slow with him. This first week has been all about letting him settle in...
and bonding.
It's probably too soon to tell, but I think this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
Congratulations, Karen. I absolutely love your new boy!

  1. We're in for a lot of caffeine jokes.
A lot of bonding and enjoying isn't exactly unknown around here,...
I love his blue eyes. :)

    1. That's just the light bouncing up off the snow. His eyes are brown.

  2. Icelandics are amazing horses. Boarded together with a friend who owned one and riding the tolt is a feeling like no other!
