NaMoPaiMo day twenty

A week before the start of NaMoPaiMo, my mother-in-law was moved into hospice care.

She's still fighting the good fight, but regardless of what happens between now and February 29, my memories of this month will always be touched by the shadow of death.

It's been an overwhelmingly difficult month, but for me, NaMoPaiMo has been a bright spot. I feel the strength and support of this community, and I am excited every time I see a new horse in the NaMoPaiMo Winners' Circle. 

The entry that made me the most happy today, was Katie Chamblin's badger face, grulla pinto Cancion.

Katie is extremely pregnant, and all month, it's been a race to see which arrives first, the horse or the baby. I am so pleased that the horse won! Congratulations, Katie. You are the NaMoPaiMo Champion of the Day. Now go have that baby, so we can congratulate you again!

Good job to everyone who painted their horses today, and hugs to everyone who needs them. It's been a long, hard month, but together, we will make it through.
