Ponytine

The first time I met my work friend, Kim, she told that she thought she might love her horse more than her husband.

I laughed because, honestly, we've all been there. As complicated and difficult as horses can be, they are still miles easier than husbands.

Especially my husband.

But also, oof. That's not something I would say to a stranger.

Today is Valentine's Day.
It's not my favorite holiday.
I like love, but the obligatory displays of affection are not my thing. I'll take the candy, though.
A glance through my Facebook memories for this day reveal a lot of pictures of me snuggling with horses, and none of me and Seth.
Sorry, honey.
This year, there's no conflict. Seth is in Texas, again, working on his parents' estate. I don't have to work, so it looks like I will be spending my day with Olive.
She's my valentine.
My ponytine.
At the risk of sounding like Kim, I think I like Ponytine's Day better than Valentine's Day.
Happy Ponytine's, everyone!
