Ten days ago, I had an oops with an X-acto knife and ended up in Urgent Care. The nurse practitioner who sewed my finger back together was adamant that I needed to keep the wound very clean, so I did not go to the barn for six whole days. My first post-injury ride was on Lucy, who seemed happy to see me.

A stitch in time loses nine... or ten
If you had told me a year ago that I'd be riding in rubber gloves and a face mask, I'd have thought you were crazy, but here we are.
Today's ride was also on Lucy. We saw two eagles in the tree, and after we got back to the stable, Karen took my stitches out.
It was definitely a good barn day.
Now that the stitches are gone, I can tack tiny horses again. I have a whole list of show pictures I want to stage and shoot, but my first priority was Little Elecktra. This is her taking a lesson on Love N Stuff. And here she is doing some desensitization work with Hawkward.
Although I lost ten days to that injury, I'm still hoping to take a lot of pictures for the Field of Dolls Online Show. There isn't a lot of time and the competition looks pretty stiff, so I'm keeping my expectations reasonable. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it!
