Peepster

For more than a dozen years, I have been trying to find a horse - either real or model - that share's Matt the Cowpony's affection for Peeps.

There have been so attempts...

and so many rejections.

In fact, the only horses we've ever found who would reliably eat Peeps were JoAnna's big draft boys, Ernie and Stone.

This year, I have a horse who really likes to eat.

Last week, she took a bite off my shedding block and chewed it for a distressingly long period of time before deciding it was inedible.

If ever there was a Peep eating candidate, this is the one.

As soon as I opened the package, Sage was very interested.

There was lots of sniffing and snuffing, but no actual attempts at eating.

I decided to force the issue.

"Taste it, Sage!"

"What the heck, mama?!?"

"THAT NOT GOOD!!!"

"What else you got?"

In fact, I also had candy covered chocolate eggs...

and jelly beans.

She ate those just fine.

It's not what I expected, but the day wasn't a total bust.

Luna stepped up to the plate and ate all the Peeps.

Hey, Andrea! Are you sure Matt isn't a draft horse? As far as I can tell, the only horses that actually like Peeps have big furry feet.
