On your marks...

It's a sad truth: Before you can paint, you have to prep

It's literally the worst.
But also, before you paint, you might have to shop
And shopping - at least in regards to art supplies - is really fun.
Granted, I have enough art supplies to paint every naked resin on my shelf.
Still, you never know, right? I might be overlooking something important, so when Seth asked me if I'd like to accompany him to Meininger, I immediately said yes. After all, NaMoPaiMo is coming.
This big, beautiful, two story art supply store carries everything a model horse finishwork artist could possibly need, except for primer and prepping supplies.
This includes, but is not limited to, paint,
paint brushes,
pastels,
Pearl-Ex...
and colored pencils.
There was also a surprisingly good supply of Apoxie Sculpt.
I don't remember seeing this there before. I don't currently have a need, but it's good to know it's there, just in case.
We spent a lot of time looking at all the things, but when it was all said and done, I bought just three paint brushes and one small bottle of paint.
That's okay. Sometimes it's less about the purchases and more about the inspiration. Meiningers makes me want to paint. Is it February yet?
