When I was twenty, I spent a summer working at a guest ranch in the mountains outside of Pueblo, Colorado. The hours were long and there wasn't a lot of downtime, but occasionally the staff would get together and play games in the lodge. I remember one particularly spirited game of Trivial Pursuit, during which my roommate and fellow wrangler, Gina got an obscure geography question that none of us were able to answer.
It was Reykjavik.
A couple rounds later, I drew an equally obscure geopolitical question. I had no idea, so as a joke, I said Reykjavik. Sure enough, that was the answer.
And just like that Reykjavik became a staff in-joke. If you didn't know something, the answer was clearly Reykjavik
I never, ever, ever, not in a million years thought I would spend a day in Reykjavik, but that's exactly what I did today.
