Sunday was beach day.
This is the only ride that didn't start with a trailer ride to the trailhead. Instead, we simply rode around the edge of the Eldhestar property, went through a gate and hit the road.
My mount was a tiny, silver dun mare named Tinna.
She was a speedy little thing, who responded quickly to my aids. I was halfway in love with her before the first tölt and even more so after. Her gait was much better than any of the horses I had ridden previously. I hoped for a long and happy acquaintanceship.
We followed a rural country road lined with pony pastures. It rained briefly, not hard.
Then the clouds parted, and we saw some blue sky.
Perfect riding weather.
Perfect scenery.Perfect horse.
We passed a few homes behind gates."Rich people's summer houses," Karin said.
We rode on.
We entered a big pasture filled with mares and foals.
Most kept their distance, but a few came to check us out.
So cute!
Tinna nickered at every single one of them.
This was such a highlight.
I loved riding through the pony pasture.
Our next milestone was a large water crossing.
There was a nice grassy area on the other side.
Lunch break!
To be continued.
