I only bought a few things in Iceland: a bridle for Olive, an Eldhestar t-shirt, some weird Icelandic candy and a couple refrigerator magnets.
Unfortunately, I did pick up another souvenir while traveling through the Keflavik airport.
Well, it's more complicated than that.
I came home and tested as a matter of course. Negative.
Then I got sick. It was a milder version of what I experienced after my second Covid booster. I assumed Covid, but when I tested again, I was still negative.
"Okay," I said to myself. "Just crud."
And that would have been that, but a few days later, Seth got sick. Same symptoms, same duration, same everything except his test was positive. And more than a week later, his tests continue to be unrelentingly positive.
The good news is, other than a lingering cough and some fatigue, we both feel fine.Still, we've taken this seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, I stayed home until I was more than ten days post symptoms.
Seth is still staying home. He's been building model airplanes, and together with Piper, we've been binge watching Yellowstone.
It's been kind of a long, weird interlude, not entirely unpleasant, but at this point, we're ready to get back to our regular lives. Cross your fingers. Maybe tomorrow's test will be negative.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you got it 😕 I've had COVID before, and I only tested negative, even though my whole family was getting positive tests 🤷 I hope that you and Seth get better soon!
ReplyDeleteCOVID can be miserable. Couple that with the isolation from friends and activities and it is not a fun thing to experience. I hope you and Seth feel better ASAP.
