Last hurrah

This is our last day in Iceland. Instead of our usual pre-ride, power breakfast...

we opted for a cinnamon and chai latte from a nearby coffee shop. So good!
After that, Karen went back to the hotel to finish packing. I had already done that, so I walked down to the waterfront for one last look.
When we were here on Friday and Saturday, it was windy and you couldn't smell the ocean at all.
Today, it is completely still and you could actually taste the salt in the air.
I walked along, taking pictures as I went.
A nice couple from Toronto saw me taking a selfie and offered to take a picture of me.
Ta da!
I walked to Sun Voyager and joined a flock of tourists taking photos.
I walked back on the streets, still taking pictures.
I love it here. I want to remember everything.
I got back to the hotel just in time for check out.
It’s hard to believe I almost canceled this trip after our friend group fell apart. I am so glad Karen didn’t let me. Truly, this has been one of the best weeks of my entire life.

  1. My husband and I spent 14 days in Iceland in 2019, and had so much fun! We drove the whole island and I rode in a couple of places. It's such a fun country to visit, especially if you love horses!
