The fields along the road to Steamboat Springs are littered with yellow signs.
It's kind of like all the billboards for Wall Drug in South Dakota, but in a less polished, old timey, Western wear kind of way.
It's an effective strategy.Even though I didn't need any Levis, Pendleton shirts, pants, jackets, wool blankets or kids cowboy boots, by the time we made it to Steamboat, I'd decided we were definitely visiting F.M. Light & Sons.
In fact, it was pretty much the first thing we did when we got there.
Much to my delight, there was a life sized fiberglass horse on the sidewalk in front of the store.
Clearly, this was a job for Piper.Baby's first pony ride!
Doesn't she look thrilled? We went into the store. It was smaller than I'd expected, and was mostly clothes,
boots...and tourist type toys.
There was a nice selection of Breyers...
and a surprising amount of non-traditional taxidermy.
Yeah, it was kind of like that.So many squirrels.
So many made-up squirrel stories.
Seth is mostly a no souvenirs kind of guy, but I'm still surprised none of them came home with us.
And now I think I'm really, truly done writing about our anniversary trip. Maybe. Probably.
