Sometimes when I get stuck on one project, it's best to take a break and do something entirely different. Tiffany specifically customized my Scarlett resin to be tack friendly, so a draft mare halter seemed like an appropriate diversion.
Well, that was fun. Now I guess I ought to get back to that saddle!

She is absolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThat is SUPER cute!! I haven't seen my new scarlett in person yet, but I wanna maker her all sorts of goodies too.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I NEED one of those! It looks just like my real one except mine is for a stud.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. Nice horse. I need one of those too and I don't collect resins. POOOOOOOOO!!!!
That is beautiful on her.
ReplyDeleteI Love it!
ReplyDeleteDo happen to know if the halter can be black or does it always has to be white?
If it has to be white do you know if I could make one from grosgrain?
Thank you and again, I love the halter and horse.

Hi Devon. I am really not an expert on draft horse tack, but I think white is the standard color for Belgians and Percherons. I've seen Shires and Clydesdales shown in dark brown or black tack, but typically that's a bridle and surcingle rather than just a halter. If it's a fun shelf halter, it really doesn't matter. If you plan to use it in the showring, you should do a Google image search.
ReplyDeleteAnd FYI--leather is SO much easier to use than grosgrain ribbon. For real. I know it's also more expensive and needs to be mail ordered, but still... It really is a LOT more user friendly!
Thanks! I have tons of black leather and some natural leather but I don't have any white lace. At least the horse I would make it for is a clydsedale so I just make black one.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Thanks!
