All good dogs

One year ago today, I said goodbye to my beautiful Darcy dog.

For more than fourteen years, she was my near-constant companion.
My noisy orange shadow.
I miss her so much.
I think about her every day.
This week especially.
She's not alone in my thoughts.
I have loved - and lost - so many dogs.
Mine.
My family's.
My friends'.
Even some dogs I only knew online.
Last week, my friend and fellow blogger, Lynn Isenbarger said goodbye to her Molly.
I never met Molly in person, but Lynn writes so well and so lovingly about all the Isenbarger dogs. I felt like I knew her, I definitely loved her and I mourn her loss.
In honor of Darcy, Molly and all the good dogs who have gone before them, please spend some extra time with your pets today. Even though they will someday break our hearts, I can not imagine life without them.

  2. So sad. Same, we always remember our pets equally with our loved humans. 💔

  4. Grief is unfortunately the price we pay for their love and companionship. I'm with you. The missing them is so hard, each one irreplaceable.
