NaMoPaiMo by the numbers

Today was database day. Ryan and I sat down and ran the numbers for NaMoPaiMo 2019. Here's the breakdown for this year's event.

Seven hundred seventy five people signed up to paint a horse with me this month. 

Ten percent of us are fist time painters, eleven percent are professionals and the vast majority falls somewhere in between.

• First time painters - 78
• Beginners - 266
• Intermediate - 208
• Advanced Amateur - 133
• Professional - 91

We hail from twenty three countries, although it's possible this number is just a bit bigger. Two people filled in the "Country" box with foreign characters that our database could not decipher. Sorry, my friends. Your country does not get credit for you!

No surprise, Team Jennifer is the largest name team, especially when combined with Jen and Jenny. Depending on your feelings about the final "h," Team Sara/h comes in either second or tied for sixth. What say you, Sara/h's?

This year's entry form included a check box for youth entries (fourteen and under), but a quick review review of the so-called youths revealed many names that I know belong to adults. Because of this, I can not state the youth participation with any real certainty. I'm guessing it falls in the fifty five to sixty five range.

Finally, seventy seven percent of the painters chose to pay the optional entry fee. Thank you so much, especially to those  who sent more than two dollars. Your generosity makes NaMoPaiMo possible!
