Almost wordless Wednesday
I saw this beaded saddle last month at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado. Usually I would have tried to get some information on a tack item as unusual as this one. However, I had four kids with me that day and there just wasn't much time for lingering. The people working the booth were busy, so I snapped a few pictures and that was that. I know absolutely nothing about this saddle except that it's pretty cool!

Wow! I can't imagine the work that went into it, or the price. I hope they double knotted here and there and it doesn't break... ever see those cartoons where the pearl necklace breaks? Yeah, major comedy with this one.
ReplyDeleteI would be afraid to ride in it. Gorgeous though.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen pictures of a real one before...wow...can't imagine the work.
ReplyDeleteI think Cary Nelson made a Traditional scale version of one similar a couple of years ago.
Thanks for posting the pictures! What a treat!
There's an interesting charro saddle on tackytackoftheday.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteIt's pink!
I don't think this saddle was actually for sale. I think it was there to attract people into the booth (worked with me!). They were selling jewelry and such--not tack.
ReplyDeleteBif, I saw that Charro saddle. It looked really cheaply made in addition to being a questionable color. I did *not* copy the picture for my reference files!
