Sunday fun day

This morning I went to the barn earlier than usual. I gave Sage and extra good grooming. Then I took her to the ring and snapped a few pictures.

She's getting roanier every day. I love it!
I put her in the field, walked back to the stalls and caught Kaffi. We saddled up...
and headed out.
We were accompanied by Karen and Luna, who were going on their first real trail ride together.
Luna was absolutely perfect.
There would be more pictures, but Kaffi was slightly less perfect and required two hands most of the way.
After the ride, I raced home and changed clothes. Then Angelo, Tori. Rissa and Len picked me up and we headed over to the National Western Stock Show Complex for the Toy and Doll Supershow.
We were looking for horses (me), ducks (Len), crabs (Tori) and deer (Angelo).
Horses and ducks were plentiful.
Crabs, too.
Deer were sadly lacking, but we did find one or two.
Once we'd seen everything there was to see, we left the Expo Hall and drove down Broadway to do more shopping at Meininger...
and the Wizard's Chest.
This store is stuffed full of games and costumes...
and a whole bunch of things you really don't need but still kind of want.
Heh.
Angelo finally found an acceptable deer in the miniatures case in the basement.
In that same place, I found a weasel, which I definitely did not need but bought anyway.
When we were finally done shopping, we headed back to Tori and Angelo's. We played with the dogs and put the new deer on the deer shelf in the studio. He fits in perfectly.
We wrapped up the evening with dinner at Los Dos Potrillos.
We had festive drinks...
and I was introduced to the wonders of the Molcajete.
What a very long, very fun day this was! I am so tired. I am so full. Thank you, friends. That was fabulous!

  1. WOW!! Colorado is absolutely insane!! How the dickens do you go from being doused in snow one day to bright and sunny the next??!!
Sage is absolutely gorgeous though!!(I love roans!!) Seems like she's over her zoomies?? Heh!!
Despite of the crazy weather, I almost wish that I lived there!! To have access to horses and wild life and attend stock shows on a regular basis plus have good places to eat with friends as well is a dream come true!! And you're living it!!

    1. The sun came out as soon as the snow stopped falling. Within twenty four hours it was all gone. Welcome to Colorado! I love it here.

    1. New to you, perhaps, but not really new at all. The Wizard's Chest opened in 1983.
