My Olive art collection includes two - soon to be three - realistic portrait models and three painted portrait medallions. In all of these, she's galloping.
This is not surprising.
Over the years, I shared a lot of photos of her tearing it up in the field.
So many.
All that running around was an important part of who Olive was.
But it wasn't the only part.I have just as many pictures of Olive standing peacefully in turnout,
her head lifted,
eyes closed, happily soaking up the sun,
completely at peace with her world.
This is the pose I would have chosen for a sculpture of Olive.
It's Olive at her most Olive-y Oliveness.
My best girl.
I miss her so.Earlier this year, Amanda Brock released a traditional scale resin edition called Ataraxia. It depicts a part Arabian mare, with her head lifted and her eyes closed, soaking up the sun, completely at peace with her world.
It's my Olive sculpture, but also not.Because of the not part, I was able to resist, at least for a little while. Then I got an email for Amanda's "Bring out yer Dead!" seconds sale, this happened.
My first resin purchase in more than a year. I have no regrets.Ataraxia is definitely not Olive, but it's okay. I am just so happy to have a model in this pose. Thank you, Amanda!

I’m sure it will be lovely, just like Olive.
