Under, take two

In 2019, my friend, Jennifer Scott, and I held a two day destination show for artist customized, sculpted and painted model horses and performance showers.
More than seventy five people from three different countries traveled to Aurora, Colorado to attend our show.
California's Allie Davidson was one of them.
Allie showed her big, pretty, custom mule in a slew of performance classes.
Along the way, she used multiple, self-built dioramas.
It was a gift from Allie to me, with only one condition.
I had to promise I would use it.
Well, that was 2019.
I have shown performance at a live show exactly one time since then, and Allie's diorama did not make it to the show hall.

Earlier this month, my real horse and I participated in a photo scavenger hunt.
One of the prompts was "Under Something." I tried really hard to stuff Sage under a bridge, but it was too short to be done safely.
That's okay. Eventually, I came up with something even better.
I really enjoyed that scavenger hunt. So much so, that when it was over, I decided I wanted to do it again, this time in 1:9 scale. My indoor arena is currently out of commission, but luckily, I did not need it for Under Something. After all, I still have this diorama that I promised Allie I would use.
Six long years later, this is finally happening!
Here's the picture I wanted to take with Sage.
So much safer with a plastic horse!
One down, nine to go!

  2. I'm so glad you're using it! It's always been my favorite diorama. (This is Allie. Sorry about the anonymous tag).

    1. Thank you again. I am really happy to have this diorama, even if it took me so long to use it.
