I didn't work yesterday, and I also didn't go to the barn.
For sure there were things I could have done there. My tack room needs cleaning, the foals need handling and I certainly could have found a horse to ride. I probably would have enjoyed doing any of those things, but I just couldn't muster the energy.
It will obviously be different once Sage gets here, but right now I just feel stuck in limbo.
This isn't just a real horse thing. It applies to my hobby life, as well.
I have so many models - so, so, so many - and although I've loved accumulating and owning them, I have arrived at a place where I would like to have less. Specifically, I'd like to have less of the original finish plastic variety.
Unfortunately, that's easier said than done. For the last several years, I had been using the BreyerWest Swap Meet to help thin the herd. Alas, that's no longer a thing, and my sales horses have been sitting in tubs, completely untouched for more than a year.
They are also stuck in limbo.
This morning I had a thought. I pulled a few of the sales horses out and took a photo. One of theses horses - winner's choice - will be given away for this month's free giveaway.
The rules are a little different this time. Tell me which model you'd want in the comments section of this post, and I will enter your name in the drawing. One entry per person please. The winner will be announced on Sunday. Good luck!P.S. It's entirely possible the rest of this herd will be available for postage costs only to non-winning giveaway entrants.

My 13 year old daughter would love the palomino foal! She used to ride and adore a palomino mare, and this would really make her smile! She has a small herd of her own, but has to ask for birthday and Christmas presents to add to it!
ReplyDeleteIf you see this, please send me an email. I'd love to send this foal to your daughter. braymere@comcast.net
Deleteooh, tough call! I love the Shermie mold, and the bay Stretched Morgan looks great, but then... is that Benji?!! I think I have to say Benji is my pick. Yes, Benji.
ReplyDeleteThe Morgan. I have a student that loves Breyers although she doesn’t have many and rides a horse very similar to this model in her lessons with me. I would gift it to her☺️
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I have the same problem - too many horses. But... my pick would be the Marwari. ;-) He's been on my wishlist for a while, even though I keep trying to say I don't collect OFs... ha!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the grey thoroughbred mare. Always wanted the set.
ReplyDeleteOr the chestnut (Marwari)

Nazruddin for sure. Do I need more custom fodder? I do not. Do I want more? Yes. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteThe black Paint foal! I have a mare who would just love its company.
ReplyDeleteI love the gray thoroughbred mare! ❤️
ReplyDeleteI would be ecstatic with either Nazruddin, the gold secretariat? or Benji
ReplyDeleteName is tomi p hobby on Facebook
DeleteSherman! Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI would love the gold Secretariat. When I bought my first Breyer at a dealer when I was a teenager he had one that was not for sale because it was a very special model to him and I have not forgotten that in 25 years.
ReplyDeleteOh man I still regret selling my gold charm Secretariat! Got mine signed by Peter Stone himself before he left Breyer. 😍
ReplyDeleteDawn Maddux (not sure why it says anonymous)
DeleteThis one is also signed by Peter Stone.
DeleteI adore the stretch Morgan, he’s one of my fave models. Yours looks like a great color!! (This is Lindsay Diamond, can’t get it to log me in.)
ReplyDeleteNazruddin 😍
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself I don't need anymore bodies to paint, but I have been itching to paint a Marwari. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun bunch! Hard to choose but I'm going to say Gold Secretariat, he's really cool! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteKaren from MN
I've always loved the Stock Horse Foal. Though the little black doggie is cute too. :)
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY the bay on the left !!! I’m starting a collection (2 Stablemates and 2 Classic Breyer)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this opportunity 😍
ReplyDeletePersonally I am drawn to the Hess secretariat💖 my diorama this year hits VERY ;-) close to home on that and I think that model is so unique being his last mold.
ReplyDeleteThis is Nelli, Blogger won’t accept my Google login for some reason!
Being a big Secretariat fan, I'd love the gold charm dude!! Not that I need more models, but for this guy, I'll make an exception!! lol Dagmar

ReplyDeleteOhhhh, Benji! 🩵
ReplyDeleteBenji and Tiffany were always favorites growing up (I was obsessed with the movies!) but I was never able to add the models to my collection
Gold Charm Secretariat! I've been searching for him for so long - I have the original model, the newer one on the Smarty Jones, and the gold charm Smarty! Would LOVE the complete set!
ReplyDeleteBenji for sure!
ReplyDeleteSherman Morgan for sure! I would LOVE this model. I love the high steppers. He would be an excellent parade horse!
ReplyDeleteThat dapple grey TB is just lush ❤️
ReplyDeleteThere are several vintage molds in your sales herd, but it's the Stretch Morgan that catches my eye. Would love to see him on my shelf. Thanks for doing this and hope that limbo feeling passes soon.
ReplyDeleteI’d like the Marwari!
ReplyDeleteGold charm secretariat of course
ReplyDeleteOut of all of them I would love to have the Marwari. I've always live that mold, but never got around to adding one to my collection.
ReplyDeleteThe grazing foal. I always wanted that one. Margaret
ReplyDeleteI love the Marwari and the grey thoroughbred, but the grey probably wins, I have her foal and she needs a mom lol
ReplyDeleteHi, I have been reading your blog forever, but this is the first time I’ve commented. I would love the chestnut Marwari in my collection. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI recently started my collection and can’t buy new Breyers, so second hand and give aways are my best hope of becoming a collector
DeleteOr the black and white pinto foal
DeleteOr the gold Secreteriat
DeleteOMG, so many good choices there! I love me a dapple grey horse though. That's been the horse of my dreams since I was a little girl! I'd give her a home on my grey/black horse shelf! Which will have to become a shelving unit soon. LOL
ReplyDeleteBay stretch Morgan for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that gold charm Secretariat! I have such a soft for the racehorses (have most of the traditional ones), and even more so Secretariat. I know Benji is there, and I grew up on Bsnji but no way. My luck isn't that good so Secretariat it is.
ReplyDeleteJaime Rowling (because I'm also being labelled Anon)
That's a hard one but it would have to be the Sherman Moragn. I absolutely love the old molds and he's definitely on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteI would the gray TB mare. She has such a sweet face.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'd have to go with Benji, for my vintage collection, or maybe the Sherman Morgan.
ReplyDeleteGrace Bisnath - I would like the gold charm Secretariat, if selected. 🙂💛
