While I was gone

Before I left for California, I had a talk with the broodmares.

"I know you're all ready to pop," I said. "But I'll only be gone for a few days. Please wait for me."

Kourvy, Fantasia, Aisha and Nefertiti paid attention. 

Diva had other plans.

On Saturday, my Facebook feed was filled with pictures of a fresh, buckskin colt.

So cute.

I met him this morning.

Winslow practically dragged me to him.

This happens every year during foaling season.

All the horses are obsessed.

All the people, too.

This includes me, obviously.

Even though he arrived a couple days too early, I am smitten.

Good job, Diva.

And to the rest of the girls, how does Mothers' Day weekend sound? I'm not working!
