Bethany's BCC entry

This morning's featured BreyerFest Best Customs Contest entry comes from my other favorite category, Performance. This is Derby Week by Bethany Wurl.

This ambitious entry features not one,
not two,
but three custom Thoroughbred models.
They're all fabulous.
Bethany also painted the backdrop and made most of the tack and accessories.
It's an impressive achievement, especially for someone who hasn't made a career out of performance showing.
Amazing work, Bethany. I fully expect Derby Week to be one of the finalists on the table in Lexington!

  3. Everything about this set up is just fantastic! Now this is how Breyer should make racehorse models! These are all drool worthy!!
One concern though--Bethany is going to adjust her riders--right?? As it is right now, the bay and the chestnut may be heading for a wreck as both riders seem to be looking down instead of ahead to see where they're going! Also--shouldn't their legs be bent a little more to have better contact with their horses?? It may be just me, but while I've seen real riders ride like that--this high makes me think of trick riders and at the speed the horse's are traveling, couldn't they fall off?? One more thing--I know this is hard to do with Breyer dolls--but I'd probably sticky wax those reins to their hands somehow. It just looks as though they don't have hold of the reins!!
I apologize if it seems that I'm overthinking this and appear to be critical! I'm NOT trying to be!! I'm just going by what I see in the pictures--and it could be the picture's angles that's giving the impression that these things seem a little off!
Like I said, this is fantastic entry! And I apologize if what I say is offensive--it's not meant to be!
I hope we get to see this entry at Breyerfest and I truly hope Bethany wins!! Great job Bethany!
