Judging with Julia

This has been a hard year, not just for me, but for a whole bunch of other people as well. The two people originally tasked with judging the Jurassic Classic Artist Resin and Mini Artist Resin Breed and Workmanship divisions were unable to attend, so Julia Turner and I served as last minute substitutions.
Although I've known Julia for several years, I've never seen her judge.
There are a lot of people I really like whose judging style does not match up with mine at all.
Happily, that was not the case with Julia.
It was clear right from the first section - Artist Resin Draft - that the two of us were perfectly in sync.
Our judging speed was similar, and our taste was almost identical.
Because the criteria for Breed and Workmanship is different, we didn't always come up with the same results.
Still, there was not one single time when I looked at her placings and thought, "Oof. I wouldn't have done that."
And, you know, this happened more than once.
As Jenn Scott used to say whenever we team judged, "Two bodies, one brain."
All of this is a really long way of saying that I really enjoyed judging with Julia.
I also think we did a really good job. Here are the Overall Championship callback tables for Artist Resin...
and Mini Artist Resin.
Here are our the Artist Resin Champs.
Top honors in Breed went to Laura Heidkamp's gorgeous Lucius painted by Nikki Button.
Reserve went to the Akhal Teke.
In Workmanship, Hanna Wangsgaard's Leo reigned supreme.
Check out the details in this guy's mane. So amazing.
Reserve honors went to the Grasshopper resin, which was sculpted and painted by Mindy Berg.
In Mini Artist resin, my top choice was Hanna's the Momager.
This gorgeous Whirlwind - who I think was part of Heather Bullach's NaMoPaiMo herd - was Reserve.

I was really tired by the end of the day so I could have this wrong, but I think the Mini Artist Resin Workmanship Champion was Courtney Sadar's Capriole painted by Nikki Button...

Thank you to everyone who brought their resin horses to the Jurassic Classic. That was really a wonderful division. And thanks also to Julia. I'd be happy to judge with you any time!
