Today's Facebook memories were filled with pictures of model horses and model horse hobbyists.
A few were from set-up day for Heather Malone's Rocky Mountain Spring Fling.
Lol.
But most were from Heather's 2019 show, Candyland Live.
I've written a lot of live show reports for this blog, most of which are more alike than not.
Candyland was different.
The themed performance division consisted of just seven classes: Over Fences,
PINK!...
and Ponies Only.
That was the most fun performance show of my life.
It was also the last one.
I didn't know it at the time.
Much the opposite. I fully expected this part of my life to carry on as it had been carrying on for the last couple of decades.
I didn't count on a pandemic, which put a forced halt on pretty much everything for more than a year.
I also didn't count on a basement flood, which would destroy so much of my performance gear.
It's been four years since I've shown performance at a live show. That's a long time, and most of me feels like that part of my life is over.
Still, I'm not ruling it out completely. Candyland Live was so much fun.
Maybe just maybe, if the right show came along, I could be persuaded.
