Spring is mud season.
I hate it.
The footing is slippery.
The horses are filthy.
It's miserable. It's definitely not my favorite.
Over the years, I've seen several artists create muddy horse customs. Every time, I have thought, "Ugh, why?"
Obviously, I get that it's realistic, but it's kind of like a peeing model. I don't feel like it's something that needs to commemorated in sculpture.
Well, it turns I just hadn't seen the right mud horse custom.Jenn Constantine created this muddy version of Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig's venti scale Whirlwind resin, and he is chef's kiss.
The mud is distributed perfectly...and so well done.
He looks muddy and happy, and honestly, this is a model I'd be happy to own.
Congratulations, Jenn. Mudlark is amazing.

Storm watch is one of my grails, this one is no exception! Beautifuly dirty! AC
ReplyDeleteI’ve actually never seen a muddy model. It’s different, and I wouldn’t want to collect them, but I would love to see a few like him on my shelf!!!
