| Full scale bridle with horn by Gypsy Roses |
I am not a fan of unicorns, but unicorn bridles? I'm all about that. So all about it, in fact, I decided to make not one, but two, traditional scale unicorn bridles.
This is how they looked yesterday...
and here's what they look like now. I am ready to start the leather work, but I can't decide who they should fit. One of these bridles will stay in my own collection and the other will be offered for sale. Suggestions for one or both would be greatly appreciated!

Rune...
ReplyDeleteTuscalero....
I can see either with a horn.
what about the new Totilas mold?
ReplyDeleteI would kind of love to see a uni-pony or a uni-mule... :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't considered Tuscalero, but you're right. He would make a fabulous unicorn. Rune would, too, and I bet his head is the same size as Bint Soraya's. Maybe if I had a unicorn bridle for her, she'd actually get painted.
ReplyDeleteFabian suggested Estudioso (Not Fred), but he's braided and his tail's tied up. I kind of feel that a unicorn require free flowing locks.
He also mentioned Emma. I'd never considered an uni-mule, but I have to admit, the idea has some appeal. It's so ridiculous it's awesome!
Hmmm. This isn't helping me narrow things down at all!
:D
You could always make it SUPER adjustable to fit more models...or, you could make more bridles...
ReplyDeleteWhat about Khemonahar Ali or Dunkirk Leeds or Anniversary?
ReplyDeleteI think it would look nice on a big drafty horse such as BFF but i dont think any of them have a good stance or forelock...
ReplyDeleteI'll second the vote for Dunkirk to be a unicorn! He would love it!
ReplyDeletePrincess Trillium should get one.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Princess Trillium needs one! I've also seen bridles where the horn is attached straight to the browband like this http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/157279303/magical-unicorn-browband-for-horse?ref=cat_gallery_4
ReplyDeletePrincess Trillium definitely! She would look so snazzy in that!
ReplyDelete...but isn't she spoiled enough already?...I mean, she already has a pink bridle..(Smile. smile).
Rune wouldn't look to bad either in the unicorn bridle.
Anyway, I sure love what you are doing! So, your horse is optional on being a unicorn or not. Smart!

Oh, I forgot to mention, Nejmet es Subh and Sangria would also look really good with that bridle as well.

That's one of the coolest if not the coolest unicorn bridle I've ever seen. Hmmm I may try making one....:)
ReplyDeleteI recognize that top horn. :)
ReplyDeleteYou may want to keep in mind that the original horn, at the top, is a copyright design (of mine) from GypsyRoses.Org I have worked hard to create unique items and direct reference to my designs (without linking or credit) is a potential legal issue as well. I don't know if the leatherworker that made the bridle copyrighted their design but my horns and other designs are.
ReplyDeleteThat is the thing I hate most about Facebook--photos get passed around all the time without credit. This one had hundreds of shares by the time I saw it, but there was no indication of where it had come from. I've updated the post with a caption linking your website. Now if anyone asks me where they can get a full-scale unicorn bridle, I know where to send them!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very cool looking horn. Mine is much less exotic in shape. Smaller, too!
Are you still making these?
ReplyDeleteNot at the moment, but I'm sure I will again someday.
